Supports free and responsible scholastic journalism and honors the First Amendment in student publications under Hawaii's Student Journalism Protection Act (Act 24, Session Laws of Hawaii 2022) and Board of Education Policy 101-9.

Requests the Department of Education to inform administrators by December 31, 2025, that parent consent is not legally required for publishing student names and photos in school-sponsored student-produced media.

Requires the Department of Education to revise the Student Publication/Audio/Video Release Form-General to remove language that misleads readers into assuming it applies to school-sponsored student-produced media.

Directs the Department of Education to post information in a conspicuous location across media storage systems informing administrators that parent consent is not required for student journalism publications.

Requires updates to the Department of Education website related to student privacy to align with the revised release form.
