Strongly urges the Hawaii Tourism Authority to encourage all transient accommodations (hotels, hostels, short-term rentals, timeshares) to require guests to take the Pono Pledge at check-in.

Requests the Hawaii Tourism Authority establish procedures making the Pono Pledge mandatory during check-in and requiring guests to provide proof of completion.

Requests the Hawaii Tourism Authority collaborate with hotel operators, property managers, and tourism industry stakeholders to develop accessible methods for taking the pledge, including online platforms, mobile applications, and in-person acknowledgments.

Addresses concerns about irresponsible tourism practices including trespassing on sacred land, wildlife disruption, taking lava rocks, and disregarding safety precautions that have harmed Hawaii's ecosystems and cultural sites.

Requires copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, Director of Business Economic Development and Tourism, Hawaii Tourism Authority leadership, hospitality industry representatives, and the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association.
