Department of Health directed to convene a task force to identify and develop minimum professional standards for community health worker training programs

Task force membership includes representatives from Department of Health (chair), Med-QUEST Division, University of Hawaii - West Oahu, Kapiolani Community College, one community health worker from each county, Hawaii Community Health Worker Association, Hawaii Public Health Institute, Healthcare Association of Hawaii, Papa Ola Lokahi, Hawaii Primary Care Association, and Hawaii Association of Health Plans

Members identified in the primary stakeholder list must constitute at least 50 percent of total task force membership; additional experts may be added as recommended and approved by the chairperson

Task force required to submit report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the Regular Session of 2026

Department of Health directed to provide administrative support to the task force including preparation and drafting of the report
