• Identifies summer streets programs as having been successfully implemented worldwide for over 50 years to temporarily transform streets for pedestrians, bicyclists, skateboarders, and alternative transportation modes.

• Notes that summer streets programs increase public participation, physical activity, support local businesses, and improve environmental outcomes while reducing carbon emissions.

• Directs certified copies of the resolution to be sent to the Mayor, Honolulu City Council members, the Neighborhood Commission Office Executive Secretary, and all Neighborhood Board chairpersons.
