Request the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women to convene a working group to develop measures strengthening Title IX protections in education.

Working group membership includes the Attorney General, Superintendent of Education, University of Hawaii President, one House member, one Senate member, and representatives from LGBTQ+ commission, gender violence nonprofits, sexual violence prevention organizations, civil rights advocates, and student representatives.

Executive Director of the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women serves as chairperson and convenes the group.

Working group must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2026 Regular Session.

Resolution cites concerns that Department of Education and University of Hawaii fail to meet Title IX compliance standards and that sex-based discrimination and harassment incidents go largely unreported compared to self-reported survey data.
