Iolani Palace is the only royal palace in the United States where a reigning monarch lived and serves as an icon of Hawaii's state heritage.

Department of Accounting and General Services is urged to submit a cost analysis and proposed legislation by twenty days prior to the 2026 regular legislative session for removing the blacktop, parking area, and paid parking adjacent to Iolani Palace.

Department of Land and Natural Resources shall develop and maintain replacement grounds reflecting the original palace landscape as documented in historical photographs from the Hawaii State Archives.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Comptroller of the Department of Accounting and General Services, Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, and Executive Director of the Friends of Iolani Palace.
