Recognizes and honors five outstanding educators—Janyce Omura, Jessica Dos Santos, Denise Mazurik, ʻImaikalani Winchester, and Richard Ornellas—for their work in promoting civic education in Hawaii during Civic Learning Week (March 10-14).

Janyce Omura teaches at Maui High School and serves as advisor for multiple student clubs including the Pacific & Asian Affairs Council and Interact club, and supervises Hawaii History Day projects.

Jessica Dos Santos has been a social studies teacher at Hawaii Technology Academy since 2012, developing innovative curricula that emphasize critical thinking and civic engagement through inquiry-based learning.

Denise Mazurik serves as a Global Scholars Teacher at Waiakea Intermediate School since 2020, leading the school's Global Scholars Program that helps students explore and address critical global issues.

ʻImaikalani Winchester and Richard Ornellas are recognized for their extensive teaching careers and community leadership—Winchester teaches at Hālau Kū Māna Public Charter School emphasizing traditional Hawaiian practices, and Ornellas at Molokai High School serves as special education and social studies teacher and School Community Council chair.
