• Commends the U.S. Coast Guard Station Maui for its response to the August 2023 Lāhainā wildfires, during which the station saved 17 lives and assisted approximately 40 individuals in peril.

• Coast Guard operations included extracting more than 90 vessels from Lāhainā Harbor and removing over 10,000 gallons of petroleum products from the marine environment.

• Response Boat Medium 45719 crew members navigated extreme conditions including wind gusts over 50 knots, two-to-three-foot seas, and intense smoke to conduct rescue operations, with Petty Officer Joshua Marzilli swimming twice through hazardous waters to rescue two children and facilitating evacuation of 40 stranded individuals.

• Recognizes additional Coast Guard personnel including Electrician's Mate Second Class Nicholas Smith, who coordinated rescues aboard the sailing catamaran Trilogy II, and Machinery Technician Second Class George Chihara, who coordinated search and rescue efforts over the first 72 hours.

• The House of Representatives expresses profound appreciation for the service members who risked their lives and extends "warmest aloha and best wishes" for their continued success.
