Congratulates Landon McNamara for winning the 11th Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational held on December 22, 2024, at Waimea Bay, O'ahu.

McNamara accumulated a three-wave total of 135.80 points, including a perfect 50-point ride in the second round, to secure the victory.

The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational, begun in 1984, honors lifeguard Edward Ryon Makuahanai "Eddie" Aikau and is held only when wave heights at Waimea Bay are expected to consistently reach at least 40 feet.

McNamara overcame injuries and fatigue to accomplish his childhood dream, earning recognition as a "true son of the North Shore" whose performance will be remembered as legendary in the sport.

McNamara is also recognized as an accomplished musician who uses his platform to inspire others to pursue their dreams.
