Speaker is authorized to expend funds appropriated for legislative and other expenses of the 2025 regular session during the interim period between 2025 and 2026 sessions.

Speaker may contract, hire, or employ personnel and assistance, including designating additional employment for House employees and approving employment of individuals prior to the 2026 regular session.

Speaker is empowered to establish and approve standing, interim, select, investigative, and special committees, including authorizing meetings, determining committee membership and functions, issuing subpoenas, and approving committee expenditures.

Committees must provide periodic reports to the Speaker and submit a full report of all activities, findings, and recommendations to the Legislature within ten days after the 2026 regular session convenes.

Speaker authorization is valid through January 21, 2026, and applies to completing work of the 2025 session and conducting official legislative business during the interim period.
