Department of Accounting and General Services shall identify all state-owned buildings with space and capability to establish child care centers and submit a report to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2026 regular session convening.

Department of Accounting and General Services shall establish and administer child care centers in identified state-owned buildings after submitting the report, procuring a licensed child care provider operator in accordance with chapter 103D.

State-owned building definition excludes buildings leased to non-state entities and educational facilities and institutions.

Beginning January 1, 2026, all bids for state building construction and major state building renovation projects shall include a designated area for a child care center.

Act takes effect upon approval.
