Appropriates $250,000 for fiscal year 2025-2026 and $350,000 for fiscal year 2026-2027 to establish a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program at the University of Hawaii Maui College.

Funds shall be used to establish the nursing program, hire additional personnel, and purchase related supplies and equipment.

Addresses Hawaii's nursing workforce shortage of approximately 1,000 positions by expanding nursing program capacity and allowing Maui students to complete bachelor's degree studies on Maui instead of transferring to the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Declares the establishment of a bachelor's nursing program in Maui County is a matter of statewide concern under the Hawaii State Constitution.

Takes effect on July 1, 2025.
