SB 1195 Summary

• Prohibits parking within twenty feet on each side of any crosswalk or intersection, regardless of whether official signs or curb markings are present.

• Establishes exemptions for authorized emergency vehicles, official federal/state/county vehicles performing duty, stalled or broken vehicles, vehicles assisting disabled vehicles, vehicles yielding to emergency vehicles, and vehicles otherwise authorized by law.

• Imposes a maximum fine of $50 per violation, with each day constituting a separate offense.

• Directs all fines collected from street parking violations to be deposited into the Safe Routes to School Program Special Fund for infrastructure improvements promoting pedestrian safety.

• Takes effect January 1, 2026.
