Office of Planning and Sustainable Development shall update soil data in the land study bureau soil rating system using the latest United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service soil data and develop a process for regularly incorporating future soil data updates.

Office shall collaborate with the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and the American Farmland Trust to align the land study bureau soil rating system with national standards and best practices.

Office shall establish a public process for reviewing and refining the updated soil data and draft maps.

Office shall present the final updated land study bureau soil rating system with new soil data and maps to the legislature within twenty-four months of the effective date.

$400,000 appropriated from general revenues for fiscal year 2025-2026 to conduct the required work.
