Removes the existing prohibition on deferred acceptance of guilty plea or nolo contendere plea for bribery convictions and relocates it to apply to all bribery convictions under the amended statute.

Establishes bribery as a class A felony without possibility of probation or suspension of sentence when the public servant is an elected or appointed official and the pecuniary benefit exceeds $50,000.

Establishes bribery as a class A felony without possibility of probation or suspension of sentence when an elected or appointed official commits three or more bribery acts within any three-year period with an aggregate value exceeding $50,000.

Maintains bribery as a class B felony for offenses not meeting the enhanced class A felony thresholds.

Takes effect upon approval and applies only to offenses committed after the effective date.
