HI SB513

Authorizes the Department of Health to permit counties to implement gray water recycling programs allowing farms of less than ten square acres to use gray water for irrigation.

Restricts gray water use on farms to non-edible vegetation in areas with limited public access, fodder/fiber/seed crops not consumed by humans, or timber and trees not bearing food crops.

Adds farms to the existing gray water recycling program, which previously limited gray water use to lawns and gardens only.

Requires all gray water use to conform to the state plumbing code, chapter 3-183, Hawaii administrative rules.

Becomes effective upon approval.
