Expands workers' compensation medical benefits for firefighters with five or more years of service to cover additional cancers including adenocarcinoma or mesothelioma of the respiratory system, cancers of the buccal cavity, colon, pharynx, and thyroid, and malignant melanoma.

Requires employers to cover medical care, services, and supplies at 110 to 150 percent of Medicare Resource Based Relative Value Scale fees applicable to Hawaii.

Allows employers to deny medical benefits by proving the cancer or disease was not associated with firefighting duties.

Codifies coverage for leukemia, multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and cancers of the bladder, brain, breast, esophagus, intestines, kidney, lung, prostate, rectum, female reproductive organs, stomach, and testes in a new subsection.

Effective July 1, 3000.
