Recognizes April 21-28, 2025 as International Dark Sky Week in Hawaii and asks residents to support protection of dark sky resources.

Requests the University of Hawaii convene a task force to study light pollution and dark skies preservation throughout the State.

Task force membership includes the University of Hawaii President (chair), Directors of Business/Economic Development/Tourism, Transportation, Board of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson, Institute for Astronomy Director, Office of Hawaiian Affairs CEO, county mayors, and University of Hawaii at Hilo representative.

Task force to evaluate light pollution reduction, energy conservation, impacts on culture/science/environment/economy, protected species, astronomical observations, education, dark sky parks, light pollution monitoring, and public safety issues.

Task force must submit interim progress report by December 1, 2025 and final report with findings and recommendations by December 1, 2026.
