University of Hawaii is requested to explore the feasibility of establishing an Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and identify requirements for receiving federal funding from the National Institute on Aging.

University must investigate current research capabilities, infrastructure, and expertise related to Alzheimer's disease and assess potential benefits to the University, State, and Hawaii residents.

University must determine criteria and guidelines for National Institute on Aging Alzheimer's Disease Research Center grants and outline institutional commitments needed to meet requirements.

University must develop a phased plan including feasibility assessments, infrastructure development, faculty recruitment, community engagement, and estimated timeline for implementation including potential grant applications.

University must submit a report to the Legislature on feasibility assessment, funding requirements, and proposed timeline no later than December 31, 2025.
