• Requests the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to provide clinical counseling services exclusively for correctional facility staff members statewide, separate from mental health resources available to inmates.

• Recognizes that correctional facility work exposes staff to direct and vicarious trauma, resulting in risks of burnout, compassion fatigue, post-traumatic stress, and other mental health conditions.

• Urges the Director of Corrections and Rehabilitation to allocate a portion of the department's operating funds to establish in-house clinical counseling services, including hiring additional clinical counselors, psychologists, or other mental health service providers as needed.

• Requires a certified copy of the concurrent resolution be transmitted to the Director of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
