Urges the Department of Land and Natural Resources to adopt a game management plan that incorporates ethical means of game population control as part of sustainability strategies.

References Chapter 183D, HRS, which directs the Department to administer sustainable hunting programs and promote public hunting.

Notes that Act 315 (Session Laws of Hawaii 2022) clarifies that game mammals and birds provide sustainable food sources and recognizes that proper game management benefits watershed areas by minimizing negative environmental impacts.

Expresses concerns that the Department may continue employing unethical means of population control rather than relying exclusively on hunting and other humane methods to prevent overpopulation.

Requires transmittal of a certified copy of this concurrent resolution to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
