Requests the State Auditor to conduct an audit of the Department of Education's capital improvement projects and finances since 2021.

Audit should examine how the Department of Education expends money on capital improvement projects, including project prioritization methods.

As of January 2024, the Department of Education had over $2 billion in unspent capital improvement program funds despite receiving nearly $1 billion in appropriations during the 2021-2023 fiscal biennium.

Auditor must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2026 Regular Session convenes.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Auditor and Superintendent of Education.
