Request the State Auditor to conduct biennial management and financial audits of Medicaid health care insurance contractors (managed care organizations under contract with the Department of Human Services).

First audit to be completed within six months of July 1, 2025, with subsequent audits occurring every two years.

Each audit shall assess financial integrity, performance, and compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and contractual obligations, and review all relevant financial and operational documents.

Auditor to submit findings and recommendations to the Governor, Legislature, and Director of Human Services no later than 20 days before the convening of the Regular Session of 2027 and every Regular Session thereafter following an audit year.

Medicaid contractors are requested to cooperate fully with the Auditor and promptly provide all records and information requested; Auditor may conduct additional audits based on risk assessments or requests from the Governor, Legislature, or Director of Human Services.
