Request the State Auditor to conduct a sunrise analysis of lactation consultant licensure as proposed under S.B. No. 317 from the 2025 Regular Session.

Auditor must evaluate whether establishing a Board of Lactation Consultants and requiring licensure for lactation consultants is necessary due to the sensitive nature of the profession and lack of current regulatory oversight.

Auditor shall submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2026 Regular Session convenes.

Currently, no licensure requirements exist for lactation consultants in Hawaii despite licensure being required for many other medical care professions.
