Request that the Department of Education stop mandating students attend schools outside their home service area, specifically addressing the Kapolei complex's overcrowding issues.

Multi-tracked schools (year-round alternating schedules) achieve test scores approximately 2 percent lower than traditional schools on national reading, math, and language assessments.

Multi-tracking is more expensive long-term and negatively impacts community and family cohesion, increasing stress and burnout for students, teachers, and families.

Overcrowding in the Kapolei complex is partially caused by mandatory reassignment of students who would otherwise attend Nanakuli complex schools in the Leeward District.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
