Request Department of Education to implement a three-year pilot program shortening school hours on Fridays for one elementary school, one middle or intermediate school, and one high school to provide students additional time for homework.

Pilot program aims to assess impact of shortened Friday hours on student academic performance, time management skills, stress levels, and overall well-being across different grade levels.

Department of Education must submit annual reports to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the Regular Sessions of 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 detailing student academic performance, teacher and parent feedback, and recommendations on whether to make permanent, expand statewide, or terminate the program.

Certified copies of the resolution must be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Education.
