Request the Department of Education, in collaboration with the Department of Health and State Public Charter School Commission, to conduct a study on heat exposure management practices in department and charter schools during outdoor activities.

Require the study to assess the feasibility of using wet bulb globe temperature as a standard for measuring heat stress in schools.

Direct the Department of Education to develop guidelines for managing heat exposure if existing practices are found insufficient, including protocols for hydration, staff training on heat illness symptoms, protections for students with medical conditions affecting thermoregulation, and acclimatization procedures.

Require the proposed guidelines to apply to all outdoor activities including sports practices, conditioning workouts, recess, marching band practice, and JROTC activities across all department and charter schools statewide.

Require submission of the study to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2026 Regular Session, with any developed plan due twenty days before the 2027 Regular Session.
