State and county departments pursuing major plans or work efforts likely to significantly affect community members must conduct public hearings on the issue

Departments must post notice of public hearings on their websites

Direct notices via mail and email must be sent to the Governor, relevant county mayor, and any state senators, state representatives, or county council members with constituents in the affected community

All public hearings must be open to the general public without charge

Effective date: July 1, 2025
