Department of Education may subsidize all tuition and mandatory fees for Hawaii resident students enrolled in a 4-year University of Hawaii campus education program during the semester they complete their student teaching requirement

Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in good academic standing in a state-approved teacher education program that results in an education degree

Students receiving the tuition subsidy must commit to teaching full-time for 5 years in their licensed field at a Department of Education public school following licensure recommendation

Department of Education required to adopt administrative rules to implement the program

Effective date of July 31, 2050
