Allows retired state employees to be rehired as investigators for the Department of Law Enforcement or Department of the Attorney General without re-enrolling in the Employees' Retirement System and without losing retirement benefits

Applies only to investigator positions identified as labor shortage or difficult-to-fill positions by these departments

Requires retirants to have not been employed by the State or county for at least six calendar months before reemployment, and prohibits any prior return-to-work agreements made before retirement

Requires the employing department to contribute to the pension accumulation fund the required percentage of the rehired retirant's compensation to amortize unfunded actuarial accrued liability

Mandates the director of human resources to include details on investigator retirant employment in the annual legislative report, effective July 1, 3000
