Requires private employers to reimburse employees for vehicle mileage expenses when employees use their personal vehicles to carry out work duties or at the employer's direction

Sets the reimbursement rate equal to the standard mileage rates established by the Internal Revenue Service

Excludes personal commuting expenses from the reimbursement requirement, including travel between an employee's home and workplace

Adds a new section to Chapter 388 (Hawaii's wage and hour laws) of the Hawaii Revised Statutes

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor
