Authorizes Department of Education employees and agents who have been trained by a health care professional to administer oral, nasal, and topical medications to students, expanding beyond just school health assistants

Allows trained volunteers to administer premeasured medications in emergency situations when school health assistant positions are vacant

Expands the list of prescribers whose medication orders can be administered to include physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses, in addition to licensed physicians and other practitioners with prescriptive authority

Requires parental/guardian authorization for minors, approval from a department health care professional, and demonstration that medication is necessary for the student's health and school attendance

Effective date set for July 1, 3000 (placeholder date)
