Adds actively practicing advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to the list of professionals who may claim exemption from jury duty service in Hawaii.

Currently, only physicians and dentists among healthcare professionals can claim jury duty exemption under Section 612-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

The exemption is voluntary—qualifying individuals may still choose to serve on a jury if they wish.

The legislature justifies the exemption by noting that removing APRNs from practice deprives patients of needed healthcare services and creates financial hardship for nurse-owned practices responsible for overhead costs.

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
