Elevates bribery from a class B felony to a class A felony without the possibility of probation or suspension of sentence when the public servant is an elected or appointed official, the pecuniary benefit exceeds $20,000, or the person commits three or more bribery acts within a three-year period.

Increases the penalty for official misconduct from a class C felony to a class A felony.

Prohibits persons convicted of bribery from receiving deferred acceptance of guilty or nolo contendere pleas under Chapter 853.

Defines bribery as conferring, offering, or agreeing to confer pecuniary benefits to influence a public servant's official actions, or as a public servant soliciting or accepting such benefits.

Official misconduct includes unauthorized exercise of official functions for personal benefit or knowingly submitting false statements, documents, or records.
