Designates May 22 of each year as "Maritime Day" in Hawaii to preserve the state's maritime history and celebrate the maritime industry's contributions to the economy and culture

Maritime operations at state harbors provide the majority of essential supplies including food, clothing, construction materials, and fuel to the islands

Maritime Day is explicitly not a state holiday and shall not be construed as one

Amends Chapter 8 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes by adding a new section for this observance

Effective date set for July 1, 3000 (placeholder date indicating the bill requires further amendment before implementation)
