Funding covers four areas: offsetting federal funding cuts, meeting the mandatory 20% cost-sharing requirement, supporting the tumor biorepository, and implementing statewide pathology reporting software.

The Hawaii Tumor Registry has operated for over 50 years, providing cancer surveillance data and supporting public health investigations including cancer cluster analysis and COVID-19 pandemic impacts on cancer care.
