Extends the statute of limitations for misconduct in office by public servants from 2 years to 10 years after the defendant leaves public office or employment.

Removes the previous cap that limited the extension to no more than 3 years beyond the standard limitation period.

Allows prosecution for official misconduct at any time while the defendant remains in public office or employment.

Amends Section 701-108 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes governing time limitations on criminal prosecutions.

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
