Responds to the August 2023 Maui wildfires, described as the deadliest natural disaster in Hawaii's history, with ongoing health impacts including toxic exposures, respiratory illness, and mental health trauma

Over 2,000 residents have already received services through the existing program, including medical and mental health screenings, biomonitoring, and referrals to care

Funding will expand services for high-risk populations including children, first responders, kupuna (elders), and medically vulnerable individuals, with long-term follow-up for up to 5,000 individuals

Recommended by the governor for immediate passage as an emergency appropriation under the Hawaii State Constitution
