Prohibits employers from discriminating against employees or job applicants based on their status as medical cannabis registry card holders or for testing positive for cannabis, unless the employee was impaired during work hours or in a potentially dangerous occupation

Allows employers to use fit-for-duty tests as risk-based assessment tools for registered qualifying patients in potentially dangerous occupations

Exempts specific occupations from employment protections, including law enforcement, firefighters, water safety officers, emergency medical personnel, employees carrying firearms, those working with children or vulnerable populations, and operators of commercial vehicles or heavy machinery

Shields employers from liability when an employee's injury or death is solely caused by their impairment from medical cannabis

Preserves employers' rights to take adverse action against employees who use or possess medical cannabis in the workplace while impaired, with an effective date of July 1, 3000
