Honors Ira Barnes Dutton (1843-1931), a Civil War veteran who converted to Catholicism and adopted the name Joseph after personal struggles including alcoholism and failed marriage

Brother Joseph Dutton arrived at Kalaupapa, Molokai in July 1886 and assisted Father Damien in caring for leprosy patients until Damien's death in 1889

After Father Damien's death, Dutton managed the Baldwin Home for Boys for leprosy victims and served Kalaupapa residents for over 40 years until his death in 1931

Effective date set for April 27, 2843 (Dutton's 1000th birthday)
