Allows an injured worker's attending physician to request a functional capacity examination without obtaining prior permission from the employer or insurer, once the worker has reached medical stabilization and cannot return to their usual job

Requires the attending physician to submit written notice to the employer at least 7 calendar days before the referral, including the healthcare provider's name, address, discipline, specialty, and reasons for the examination

Mandates that the functional capacity examination report be provided to the attending physician and employer within 14 calendar days after the examination

Employers are required to pay fees for functional capacity examinations requested by the attending physician

Adds licensed occupational therapists and physical therapists to the list of qualified healthcare providers under workers' compensation law, specifically for performing functional capacity examinations

Takes effect July 1, 2050
