Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation must issue certificates of suitability for employment to former offenders who have fulfilled their sentence and post-release obligations, completed reentry programs, and demonstrated readiness for employment

Department required to collaborate with state agencies, federal agencies, and private employers to educate stakeholders about the certification program

Department must establish administrative rules governing issuance and interpretation of certificates and their relationship to existing criminal history record checks

Appropriates unspecified amount from general revenues for fiscal years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 to implement and administer the certification program

Effective date: July 1, 2025
