Establishes a Nuclear Energy Task Force within the Hawaii State Energy Office to study the feasibility of using advanced nuclear power technologies in the State

Task force membership includes the chief energy officer (chair), director of health, chairperson of the board of land and natural resources, one state senator, one state representative, a public utilities commission representative, and a University of Hawaii nuclear energy expert

Additional invited members include a U.S. Navy representative with nuclear expertise, a public utility representative, and a nuclear energy or waste disposal expert appointed by the governor

Task force must evaluate benefits, risks, and barriers to nuclear power development including regulatory, statutory, financial, social, and environmental factors, and identify short-term and long-term nuclear energy goals

Interim report due 20 days before the 2026 legislative session; final report with recommendations due 40 days before the 2027 session; task force dissolves December 31, 2027
