Mandates driver's license suspension for operating a vehicle without motor vehicle insurance: 6 months for first conviction, 2 years for subsequent offenses within a 5-year period

Maintains existing fines of $500 for first offense and minimum $2,000 for subsequent offenses within 5 years for driving without insurance

Courts may suspend all or part of the fine if defendant provides proof of current motor vehicle insurance

Allows community service as alternative to fines: 75-100 hours for first offense, 200-275 hours for second offense, with court discretion for subsequent offenses

Effective date: July 1, 2025
