Schools may maintain a stock supply of bronchodilators (such as albuterol inhalers) to be administered by trained school health assistants or authorized volunteer employees to any student experiencing actual or perceived asthma episodes

Trained school employees who volunteer may administer emergency medications including epinephrine, glucagon, seizure rescue medication, inhalers, stock bronchodilators, and insulin to students in emergency situations, with appropriate parental authorization and medical orders

The Department of Education must develop protocols in collaboration with the Department of Health for maintaining bronchodilator stock supplies, training employees, and establishing procedures for emergency medication administration and follow-up care

Schools, employees, prescribers, pharmacists, and trainers acting in accordance with these requirements are granted immunity from civil and criminal liability, except in cases of gross negligence, willful misconduct, or intentional misconduct

Prescription labeling requirements are amended to allow bronchodilators to be prescribed with the school as the designated patient, enabling schools to obtain and maintain stock supplies
