Requests the State Auditor to assess the social and financial effects of proposed legislation (S.B. No. 2204) that would expand mandated health insurance coverage for autism diagnosis and treatment.

Current Hawaii law limits health insurance coverage for applied behavioral analysis and autism therapies to individuals under 14 years of age, with a $25,000 annual cap on coverage.

The proposed expansion would repeal both the age limit (allowing coverage for adolescents and adults) and remove the $25,000 annual maximum benefit for applied behavioral analysis services.

Auditor must submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the Regular Session of 2027.

Certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Auditor and Insurance Commissioner.
