Urges the Department of Transportation to modify rumble strip specifications to a reduced-dimension or sinusoidal profile on Kamehameha V Highway east of mile marker 9.5 on Molokai.

Current rumble strips are overly aggressive, causing motorists to swerve toward shoulders or straddle the centerline to avoid jarring impacts, creating hazards for cyclists and pedestrians.

Alternative "sinusoidal" or "mumble" strip designs can reduce external noise by up to 10 decibels while still providing adequate tactile and auditory warnings to drivers.

Requests certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Director of Transportation and the Maui County Mayor.
