The U.S. Navy conveyed approximately 400 acres to the City and County of Honolulu on June 12, 2024, for Kalaeloa Regional Park along Coral Sea Road in Ewa Beach.

The City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation has appropriated $1.8 million to begin developing a master plan for the park.

The resolution urges completion of a comprehensive master plan for all 400 acres by 2027, with an initial development phase prioritizing approximately 50 acres.

The initial phase should include football and soccer fields, baseball and softball diamonds, recreational exercise areas, jogging paths, lighting, and supporting facilities for youth and community sports programs.

The resolution calls for transparent public accounting of the $1.8 million already appropriated and any future funds, and urges the City to seek matching state funds for the project.
