Hawaii House of Representatives reaffirms its commitment to participate as a member legislature in the Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the successor organization to the Pacific Islands Parliamentary Group established in 2019.

The Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was formally established in August 2025 when member legislatures adopted statutes expanding the framework for cooperation among Pacific parliaments and formalizing its governance structure.

The Assembly focuses on shared regional priorities including climate resilience, sustainable development, ocean stewardship, cultural preservation, and economic resilience across the Pacific region.

Hawaii's geographic location and indigenous heritage position the state as a bridge between Pacific Island nations and the United States, facilitating dialogue and partnership among Pacific legislatures.

Certified copies of the resolution will be transmitted to the Governor, legislative leaders, the East-West Center President, and Pacific Inter-Parliamentary Assembly officials including the Parliament of French Polynesia.
