Coverage for new graduates expires on July 31 of their graduation year

Addresses a gap where graduating students lose "student" status and therefore workers' compensation eligibility when participating in DOE-sponsored internships after graduation

Aligns with the DOE's 2023-2029 strategic plan goal of expanding structured work-based learning experiences and internships for high school students

The State remains the responsible employer for workers' compensation purposes for both students and new graduates in these programs
